Gone Too Soon

JAMIESON, CAROLYNE P., transitioned on Saturday, August 13, 2011 was born on September 29, 1946 in Orlando to the late Joseph, Sr. and Annie Mae Sills Jamieson. Carolyne was a retired educator of 34 years for OCPS teaching at Union Park Jr., Colonial High and Oak Ridge High Schools. Carolyne was a lifetime and charter member with Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc., Shamikah Court #15 Daughters of Sphinx and Sisters Network Orlando, Inc. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church, Orlando. She is survived by her daughters, Carla Denise Tribue Williams, Ocoee and Gineen Yvette Tribue Thompson, Daytona Beach; four grandchildren Morris C. Williams, III (Carmen), Orlando, Dominique M. Thompson, Houston, TX, Gabrielle E. Thompson, Houston, TX and US Air Force SrA Jonathan M.L. Williams, Las Vegas, NV; seven great-grandchildren Ashawnti, Shaequan, Myna, Morris IV, Makayla, Chasity, Orlando and Dominic, Houston, TX; three brothers Joseph Jr., Greensboro, NC; Albert and Rudy, Orlando; one sister Sandra, Orlando; longtime friends Barbara Alderman, Mildred Brewer, Jerria Ford-Jamieson, Frances Sealy, James Stephens, Joyce Smith and Gloria Ware; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, August 20 at 3PM at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church, Orlando. The family is accepting flowers at the Jamieson Family Home. WHITE, DR. GLADYS MARIE, Ocoee, FL went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 22, 2011. She served OCPS for many years as an educator, and later retired as the Principal of Eagle's Nest Elementary. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Fraternity for Educators, the Sister's Network, and volunteered with The American Cancer Society. She is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth, Sr.; daughters, Ariel (Jan-Gregory) D'Aguiar, Ashaki (Robert) Burnham; sons, Kenneth, II, Darrian (Agnes) White; sister, Joe Alice Ruff; brother, Edward Jackson; seven grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, 5 to 8 PM at the church. A service of Celebration will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 1:30 PM at New Church of Faith, 5000 Silver Star Road, Orlando with Bishop David Beacham, Jr. officiating. Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park. POSTELL'S MORTUARY is providing service for the White family.

KNOX BUCKLEY, DOROTHY JEAN

Dorothy Jean Knox was born June 2, 1956. She volunteered several years to the organization Federation of Congregations United to Serve (FOCUS), where she served on the executive Board and traveled to the state and nation's capital championing the cause for Child Health Care and other injustices within the community she lived. She also worked for Housing and Neighborhood Development Services (HANDS) to help revitalize the Parramore community. She volunteered three days a week at Mt. Zion's ACCESS program and served on the usher's ministry.

She joined the Orlando chapter of Sisters Network in 2008.

JOHNSON, MOLLIE IRENE

Mollie Irene Johnson was born on January 24, 1928 in Marshallville, Ga to Mr. Walter Johnson Sr. and Essie Mae Sistrunk. She moved to Orlando in 1956 and Joined Carter Tabernacle CME church. She was a member of the Usher Board and Stewardess Board until her health declined. She served as chairperson of the Angels of Love Ministry (cancer support ministry). She was a member of the Verna Mann Pillors of Faith and a faithful member of the Foster Grandparents Program.

Miss Molly was a dedicated member of the Orlando Chapter of Sisters Network since 2007. She served as Chaplain and also made the phone calls to remind members of the monthly meeting.
